Actors including Amanda Donohoe, Damien Molony, Gethin Anthony, Guy Paul, MyAnna Buring, Olivia Williams, Rhashan Stone will perform Ocean-themed short stories, poetry and songs. The remarkable stylings of violin virtuoso Lizzie Ball and jazz/classical pianist Dorian Ford will infuse the proceedings, invoking the mystery and power of our Oceans.
Performances of literary works from renowned authors including A.S. Byatt, Isak Dinesen, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Brendan Kennelly, will evoke the deep, vast, wild, unknowable majesty of our planet’s seas.

Founder & Artistic Director, Cedering Fox, has curated this evening in support of OCEAN RISING, an initiative that encourages the public to engage with the ocean through cultural initiatives and innovative events. Established by Schmidt Ocean Institute and Nekton, it aims to integrate the ocean seamlessly into the fabric of everyday life.
A short Q & A with Oliver Steeds, OBE, the Chief Executive and Founder of Nekton, follows the performances. Oceanographer and critically acclaimed broadcast journalist formerly with ABC, NBC, Channel 4, Discovery Channels and others, Steeds was awarded the OBE in the 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for his services to Research and Conservation of the Marine Environment.
